Grade 11 and 12 Humanities students worked in pairs on a multidisciplinary presentation, promoting teamwork and critical thinking through an in-depth analysis of Cold War topics from various perspectives. Each pair incorporated an engaging “hook” activity and brain breaks, such as a communism card game, role-plays, debates, and political cartoon analysis, to keep the audience involved. Topics covered included the Berlin crisis, the cultural and social impact of the Cold War, the Soviet-Afghan conflict, the Gulf War, and the dissolution of the USSR. A clear grading rubric was provided, and assessments were collaboratively conducted by both subject teachers.
