The chosen theme for this year’s International Day of Yoga 2023 is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” symbolizing our collective aspiration for “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.” Yoga holds significant importance in schools as it offers numerous benefits to students’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Celebrating yoga in schools allows young learners to cultivate mindfulness, enhance concentration, and develop self-discipline. It promotes a healthy lifestyle by improving flexibility, strength, and posture. Moreover, yoga instills a sense of inner calm and stress reduction, enabling students to better manage academic pressures. By incorporating yoga into the school curriculum, VNS has always catered to the holistic well-being of children.

This year, too, we celebrated International Yoga Day by encouraging all the children to perform yoga for 45 minutes under the guidance of the Yoga instructors. The sheer enthusiasm and respect for this practice was praiseworthy.
