Juniorschool > Junior School Annual Day Seussical the Musical : A Night of Seussian Splendour!
“A person’s a person, no matter how small!” These famous words rang through Ambedkar Bhavan on 25th January 2025, as the Junior School Annual Day Musical brought the whimsical world of Dr Seuss to life. The stage glowed, the curtains lifted, and 190 young performers stepped into the spotlight, ready to take the audience on a magical journey.
This year’s production, “Seussical the Musical,” was a delightful blend of two beloved classics: Horton Hears a Who! and Horton Hatches the Egg. With a vibrant cast of actors, dancers, and a 92-member choir, the night was filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments. The show was directed by Divyesh Bhandari of Imbroglio Productions, with Amy Joseph as the music director and Simran Thakur & Gautham Poojary leading the dance choreography.
From Dream to Stage: The Journey Begins
It all started in December, when eager students lined up for auditions, each hoping to bring their favourite Seussian characters to life. Once the cast was set, the real magic began—two months of rehearsals, where these young performers learned their lines, perfected their moves, and discovered the thrill of theatre.
Behind the scenes, the 92-member choir worked tirelessly, practising harmonies that would later fill the auditorium with warmth and energy. From quiet script readings to full-stage run-throughs, every session brought them closer to the big night.
A Performance to Remember
As the lights dimmed and the first notes of music played, a hush fell over the audience. Then, in an explosion of colour, song, and movement, the stage came alive.
Horton’s heart-warming quest to protect the tiny Whoville had everyone captivated, while the mischievous jungle creatures kept the audience entertained with their playful antics. The choir’s soaring melodies added depth to every scene, making the music impossible to resist—parents and teachers could be seen swaying, and some even hummed along!
From dazzling costumes to imaginative sets, every detail transported the audience straight into the world of Dr Seuss. Laughter, gasps, and applause filled the room as the young performers delivered a show filled with energy, emotion, and pure joy.
More Than Just a Show
For many students, this was their first time on stage, and they embraced it with confidence and enthusiasm. But this production was about more than just acting and singing—it was about teamwork, creativity, and pushing beyond comfort zones.
As the final bow was taken and the auditorium erupted in applause, it was clear that this wasn’t just a school play—it was a true celebration of talent and dedication.
These young stars proved that with passion, hard work, and a little Seussian magic, anything is possible. And as the curtains closed on this unforgettable night, one thing was certain—this was just the beginning of many more theatrical adventures to come.
Bravo to our young performers—you have truly made us proud!
